We let Kaitlynn open her gifts from us before we headed up to Iowa. It was so much fun watching her this year. She points out Santa everywhere she sees him and even says "ho ho ho" We've practiced singing Jingle Bells and she's at least getting down some of the important words and you should see her awesome dance moves!

Here she is trying out her new potty (po bee) seat. I believe this is the only time she's sat on it because she "freaks" out if we try to sit her on it on the big toilet!
On the 23rd we headed up to Iowa right before it started snowing.

How cute is she reading the paper with Papa??

We braved the blizzard and went to Christmas Eve Mass with Matt's Mom's side of the family and then went to Mary's house for dinner afterwards. Thank goodness we brought the truck!

She's all ready to go in her purple boots!

Checking out the gifts at Mamaw and Papa Hardie's house Christmas morning

Here's an attempt at a family picture that morning. This was the best option!

She's getting so big!

She loves her new stickers and notebook. Thanks Mamaw Hardie!

Matt helped my dad begin a little bit of the scooping out. This was only the beginning, though!

Watching Daddy and Papa out scooping snow.

Sitting at the island playing with her new house.
Kate began running a fever on Christmas eve and woke up without much of a voice Christmas morning. Unforuntately, it went downhill from there.
Ryan and Sarah weren't able to come up from St. Joe and Grandma, Grandad Mark, Diane and boys weren't able to make it over either so we invited Matt's parents to come over for lunch Christmas Day. I didn't get any pictures but it was nice to spend some time with them and not be completely by ourselves that day.
Kaitlynn's breathing, wheezing and coughing got worse and worse as Christmas evening went on. Matt slept in the recliner with her all night and every time she coughed I ran out to check on her so not much sleep happened for any of us. Matt was absolutely exhausted so Mom came with me to take her to the clinic, although with all the snow they were closed. I was really concerned with her breathing so we decided to just take her to the emergency room. The doctor and nurses were wonderful and said she had Croup. After a steroid shot to help open up her airways we were out in 2 hours. The shot helped her breathing a lot but she still wasn't her happy, singing, dancing spunky little girl the rest of the trip.

Here she is with her little bracelet from the hospital.
When we got home from the hospital Ryan and Sarah had finally made it to town. We opened gifts with them before we headed over to Ken and Jean's house to see Aunt Annie (who had flown in from Colorad0) to open gifts with them.

Here we are in our Snuggies that my mom so bravely found for a VERY cheap price at 5:30 am. on Black Friday! I have actually used mine a lot!

Aren't boxes always the most fun anyway?

Playing catch with Aunt Annie later that evening.

Thanks for my legos and wagon Grammy and Papa Sewing!

Snuggling with Grammy after she fell out of the wagon!

He was probably commenting on the basketball growing in her belly. I think you look beautiful Annie!

Sleeping with Grandma Hardie. This is what she did a lot of while we were there...poor baby!
She ran a fever off and on for about 4 days and once we got home she finally started acting like herself again. Her cough is now almost completely gone...thank goodness!
Happy New Year!

Here she is with Tucker right before we left to go over to Jo and Jarred's house for New Years Eve. She was actually sitting on the couch for a time out and when I came back to get her I saw that Tucker had jumped up to lay beside her and she was laying on him!

Cheezin' it up for the camera!

Apparently, she's getting good at doing the neck up pose in pictures just like her Daddy!

This past Saturday afternoon I put Elmo on for her to watch while I was doing laundry. I had give her "giggy" and blankie to her because I knew it was getting close to nap time. About 5 min. later I checked on her because it was unusually quiet and I didn't have a ittle helper by my side and this is how I found her! So sweet!
This is a short video I took the week before Christmas. Enjoy!
