4 months old!

Well...our little girl apparently isn't so little anymore! We took her for her 4 month check-up on Wednesday and she did so good. She smiled at Dr. Powell the whole time that he checked her and then she just laid on the table while we waited for them to bring in her shots and she squealed and laughed the whole time because she loved the sound of the paper crinkling underneath her!

Matt and I made a bet before we left about how much we though she would weigh. I went with under 15 lbs. and he picked over 15 lbs. Matt won the bet!! She weighs 15 lbs. 6 oz. Wow! That is in the 90th percentile. She has gotten a little longer and is now 23 3/4 inches which is 10-20th percentile. At least her head is normal size! Ha ha!

We went to dinner with James, Sarah, Noah and McKenna last night. I can't believe McKenna is already 3 weeks old. She's so cute!

We tried to get a good picture of her and McKenna but we just couldn't get Kaitlynn to wake up. We couldn't believe how much bigger she looked than tiny little McKenna!
After dinner we stopped at the grocery store and she was still sleeping so I stayed in the car with her. Of course she woke up about 5 min. later so I climbed in the backseat and we played for a bit.

During the summer some of the teachers from my school have gotten together a couple of times for play group. Everybody came over to our house on Tuesday. Here are some pictures of Averi and Kaitlynn. Averi is almost exactly a year older then Kaitlynn so it's fun to see what kinds of things she is doing now and then I can think about what Kaitlynn might be doing next summer!

She wanted to give Kaitlynn kisses all day! I'm watching Averi Saturday evening and I'm sure there will be a lot more kisses then, too!

We decided to try some cereal yesterday morning to see how she did with it. Dr. Powell thought that she was ready for it and she's eating 7 oz. bottles so we decided we'd go ahead and try.

I don't think much even made it into her mouth. I tried again this morning and it was a little bit thicker. She actually did much better with that.

First Doggy Ride

Kaitlynn got to experience her first ride on Tucker's back yesterday afternoon! Here are a couple of pictures and a video of her fun ride. I apologize for my giggling through the whole thing and also for my dear husband at the end of it!

Craft Show

Well...Dana and I "attempted" to do another craft show this past weekend, although we quickly learned that it probably isn't the best idea to do an outdoor event when everything we make is made out of paper!! It started raining about an hour into it and it continued to rain ALL day until it was time to pack up. Needless to say I only made $6.00 and Dana made a whopping $10.00. Oh yes...we also split the table cost of $50.00 so we both definitely ended up in the hole. We also had a little catastrophe when a wind gust came through and knocked over a metal rack that was holding ALL of my card sets and scrapbook pages. I ended up having to throw away about 1/2 of my cards because they had mud all over them. Thankfully I was able to save a few. Oh well...we now know of 2 INDOOR shows in November and December that we do well at so I think we've decided to just stick to those for now!

Please keep in mind that when this picture was taken we had already been sitting in the wetness and mud for about 4 hours!

Our entertainment for the day was watching a guy drive this red mini-van up on the side walk to "usher" in people who were supposed to be there giving out coupons and info about the Renaissance Fair. I understand that they didn't want to get their beautiful outfits wet and muddy but it was pretty hilarious because he was so serious about it! There were so many of them so he was coming and going all morning to drop them off and then he came all afternoon picking them back up in shifts! Some of his comments were "Now, I need you to go behind the door and then I'll open it from the front...Remember, the van is your biggest enemy...Now, you are going to walk around the front and go directly up the sidewalk to the door"

It was probably much funnier if you were there sitting with your feet in mud with nothing else to do but we enjoyed him!
Grandma Jean came down to watch Kaitlynn for us since Matt had to work on Saturday and she brought down the jumparoo thing. Kailtynn loves it! She will sit there for 15-20 min. at a time just looking and spinning around.

Happy 4th of July!

On Friday morning I stopped in St. Joe and picked Ryan and Sarah up and we all drove up to my grandparents house in Iowa. Unfortunately Matt had to work so I was happy to have someone to sit in the back of the car with Kaitlynn. She did such a good job the whole weekend. I was very proud of her!

Kaitlynn got to meet her Great-Great Grandad Loren for the first time! He held his arms out right away to hold her. I can't believe he's going to be 99 next week.
Someone made the comment that she was looking right at his glasses and that she must be able to see her reflection. Grandad's comment was "Well at least someone can see out of these things because I sure can't!"

On Sunday we met Ken and Jean for lunch after church. Kaitlynn cried most of the time I was at their house the night before but she was much happier today!

Oh...THE THUMB!!!

Kaitlynn has now officially discovered her thumb. I swore I would NOT let this happen but I'm not exactly sure how to stop it! The good news is that she does take a pacifier and so we've just been trying to use that more often, but in an emergency she always has her hand and fingers to fall back on.

I left Kaitlynn sitting on the couch the other day while I ran to clean out a couple of bottles in the kitchen. She usually likes to just sit there and watch the fan. She has really started to put everything in her mouth lately and when I went back in there this is what I found...Yum...this pillow is delicious!
What Mom? Haven't you sucked on pillow before, too??

Tucker LOVES to be everywhere that Kaitlynn and I are so he decided to join us while we played the other day. I guess he thought that her play mat seemed like a good place to take a little nap! I have her sitting in her Boppy pillow while I type this and this is what I'm looking at.
