35 Week Dr. Appointment

I finally had my 35 week doctor appointment today as it had been almost a month since I actually have seen her. I kept having to reschedule because she was called out to the hospital, bad weather, etc. Everything went great and the best news is that she doesn't think the baby is going to be as big as they first thought! She said her guess would be between 7-8 pounds unless she has another growth spurt like she did a couple of months ago. She said she could definitely feel that her head was down, which I was guessing also because of where I feel her movements, punches and kicks but it's nice to hear that for sure. We are going to get to have another ultrasound done on Monday just to get a more accurate guess on her size and weight. That will make me feel much better, too! She said that my blood pressure and weight gain are great and to keep doing what I'm doing.

She also reminded me that next week is March and that we're REALLY close. Like I'm not keeping track or anything! I have my school shower tomorrow afternoon and then we'll be able to go get the rest of the big stuff that we don't have yet. We're really in pretty good shape for whenever she decides to make her grand appearance!

Here I am at 34 weeks in my new comfy clothes I bought to take to the hospital with me. Although, they may get worn quite a bit before then, too!

Here I am at 34 weeks. As my friend Dana stated the other day "I am so over being pregnant!" I am just at the point that I am uncomfortable all the time. Some days it's my back, sometimes my legs and hips and most of the time it's my lovely swollen feet and ankles. I won't even put a picture of that up! It's all worth it, but I am just really getting ready for Kaitlynn to be born. I'm so excited to meet her and see what she looks like, but it will also be nice to have my body back!



These are the beautiful tulips Matt sent to my school for Valentine's Day. It was pretty cute listening to my class guess what what in the box. Finally a couple of them realized that the box said 1-800-flowers.com!!

I've been working the last couple of days to get things washed and finished up in the nursery. We finally got the part that was broken on the cribs so it is now put together. We just need to buy the mattress.
I also finished the letters for her name, although now looking at this picture I think some of them need to be adjusted on the wall some!

As you can tell I still have to figure out where to put some of this stuff. Who would have thought such a tiny little person would need so many things!

Shower #3

We are so thankful to have had so many baby showers. My 3rd shower was at our church and I still have one at my school in a couple of weeks! I don't know what we would have done without all of our wonderful friends and family helping us get ready for Kaitlynn. We appreciate everything you all have done!

This cake even had real strawberries in the middle frosting layer. I've really been trying to watch what I eat, but this was too yummy to pass up!

Shower #2

My second shower was a combined friend shower with one of my best friends, Dana. She's due on March 14th. Wouldn't it be crazy if we actually had them at the same time?? We can't wait for Courtney and Kaitlynn to get to know each other. They have many hours of playing ahead of them! Our friends Lindsey and Joanne put this shower on for us and it was mostly Graceland friends who came. We had a great time and again got lots of wonderful things for Kaitlynn!

The food was delicious and the decorations were so cute!

Emma, Jo's daughter was quite the little helper at the shower. She's my special little buddy and I was so glad she could be there! Her and Kaitlynn will be going to the same baby sittter next year.

Both of the grandma's (Aunt Annie, too!) were able to come down for the whole weekend to
attend this shower and my church shower. It was so nice having them there.

Shower #1

On February 2nd I went up to Iowa for a shower with family and close friends. My mother in-law did most of the work to get it all organized and I thought it turned out great! I was quite impressed with how "crafty" she was with the decorations! We even had a yummy chocolate fountain!

This was a cute centerpiece that they had put together. I even got to keep all the items after the shower.

Here I am with my 2 favorite sister-in-laws! Annie (Matt's sister) is on the left and Sarah (Ryan's wife) is on the right. They are both dedicated blog readers so I had to get their pictures on here! Kaitlynn is so lucky to have them for her aunts!

Doctor Update/Name

We had another doctor's appt. on Monday afternoon and everything seems to be going great with the baby! She is still measuring a little big, but it's still in the normal range. The doctor did inform us that she probably isn't going to be a tiny little thing. That was exactly the opposite of what I wanted to hear! The best news was that I only gained 1 lb. in the last 3 weeks. I was pretty happy with that! I go next week and then I start going every week. As the doctor put it, "Then we just wait for her to come". I can't believe how soon she will be here!

We did decide to spell her name Kaitlynn Nicole. Matt doesn't want people to call her Kate, so he didn't want "Kate" to be at the beginning of her name and I liked having "lynn" at the end of it. We ended up doing a combination of what we both wanted which I think worked out really well!

I had a wonderful shower up in Iowa with our close friends and family last weekend. We got some really great things that we needed! I was going to upload some pictures from it, but the USB cord has somehow disappeared. I'm praying that Matt didn't clean and throw it away thinking we didn't need it for anything. I guess we'll find out soon enough!
