Shatto Field Trip/Swing Set Fun

Today we went to Shatto Milk Company with our little teacher summer play group. It was pretty hot out but the kids had a lot of fun. We took a little tour, tasted some samples and then had a picnic before all heading home.

Here's the group in front of the milk truck. We got to sample chocolate, strawberry and root beer milk...yummy!
Kaitlynn and Drake holding hands in the little country store!
Hugs, too!
Can you see the wet spot on her shirt where one of the cows tried to eat her shirt!
This was how she looked when we first went in the barn with the baby calfs!
Some of the girls all ready for our tour.
These 3 ladies will all be at Tracey's house together next year. I think there will be plenty of good stories coming in the future!

Picking wild flowers after our picnic

Kaitlynn's grandparent's gave her some money for her birthday to go towards buying her a swing set. It seemed to rain ALL spring so we weren't able to put it up then and this past weekend happened to be the first normal weekend that Matt had off. Jarred and Ryan came over to help Matt with it and we can't thank them enough. I ended up raining most of the afternoon while they finished it up.

Having fun on the slide!
Trying out the swing.
The guys finishing up the swing set in the thunderstorm. We can't thank them all enough for helping!
Thanks Grandma and Papa (Macee) and Grammy and Papa (Duke) for the swing set! Yes, she knows them by their dog names!! There are lots of memories waiting to be made on it.

Colorado here we come!

We were so lucky to be able to join some of Matt's extended family on a trip to Colorado. We rented a house near Lyons, CO and we were about 50 minutes from Boulder and Estes Park. The owner of the house ended up being a REAL jerk and unfortunately, a lot of our trip ended up being focused around her and how angry we were at her. I don't think any of us will ever forget Pam. In the end we had a wonderful time, drank lots of wine, and made may wonderful memories together.
Here is a view from our deck.

Kaitlynn loves to follow Asha around and does EVERYTHING she does. By the end of the week Kaitlynn kept calling her "Ash" and Asha called her "Kate"

She's getting so big.
Mary told Jack if he could find 7 people to participate in a hula hoop contest that she would pay the person who could do it the longest $10. Asha ended up winning and we all got a good laugh out of it!

Jenna's turn
Kaitlynn was a good sport and clapped for all the contestants
Jake's turn
Julie gave it her best shot...
Kaitlynn joined in the competition, too! She just holds on to the hoop and turns around in circles. It was pretty cute!
We tried to have Kaitlynn and Abby take their first bath together, but as you can see it didn't go so well...

The girls all had their 4th of July outfits there so we decided to do a little photo shoot!

Before we left, Kaitlynn and Asha decided to try on some of Pam's fancy boots. I couldn't resist taking a picture before I made them take them off!
