Happy Halloween Fun!

On Saturday Kaitlynn and I went to the Halloween parade in Independence with the Lee clan! Kaitlynn was not too sure what she thought of all the costumes and masks at first but once she got used to it and tried out a sticky sucker she had a good time! The tractors were her favorite...she's definitely an Iowa girl at heart!
Mommy and Kate. Happy Halloween!
Here's some of the crew waiting for the parade to start. Little Olivia with Joanne was an adorable flower! It's hard to believe that Kaitlynn was her size just last year.
Checking out the candy with her friend Emma. She loves her so much!
On our way home with Nicholas, Alex and Emma. She didn't like Alex's Spiderman mask so he kept taking it off and saying "It's just me Kaitlynn, it's just Alex" So adorable!

After we got back home, Matt was off work and the Hicks family came over for some more Halloween fun. Dana made the girls matching tutus and shirts. I loved them!
So cute!

Hugs for my friend
She liked Courtney's fun wand
They sort of helped us pass out candy. Kaitlynn's way of helping was to try out all of the candy, wrapper and all!
We took the girls to just a couple of houses on our block. They held hands all the way down the street. It was absolutely adorable!
Checkin' out the "punkins" at the first house.
Trick or Treat!
Tucker even got into the holiday with his festive scarf. He kept it on all day and didn't even mess with it!

Matt took off work last Saturday and we went to the pumpkin patch. We all had a great afternoon together!
She still doesn't love the goats!

Picking the perfect one
Last Sunday we carved our pumpkins. Kaitlynn's little one was so completely solid that we couldn't even cut the top off. We just had her help us "clean" out our bigger "punkins" She wouldn't touch the gooey stuff but she liked to stir the spoons around and pretend to dump out the junk into the trash can. She had a great time even though she wasn't really doing anything!

Baby Shower Fun

This weekend Kaitlynn and I drove up to Iowa because Jake and Annie drove all the way back from Colorado. Jake had only seen Kaitlynn once and that was at their wedding which means he really didn't get to see her much! They are having a baby in February and so we had Annie's baby shower while they were here. It was so nice to spend time with them. I wish we lived closer but I know Kaitlynn and her cousin will have so much fun when they do get to see each other!
Jean found 3 of Annie's dresses and pictures of her wearing each of them. It was such a great idea and VERY crafty and creative on her part. We were all very proud of her idea! Here's the diaper cake I made her. Kaitlynn just had to get the baby a monkey toy since her Aunt Annie taught her how to make the monkey sound when she visited this summer.
Here's the Mama and Grandma (again!)
Kaitlynn snuggling with her Uncle Jake.
Kisses for Michelle, too!
So cute!
Grammy took Kate for a little walk after the shower. So sweet!
Before the shower we went over to spend some time at my parent's house. After a mid-nap poopy diaper change Kaitlynn finished the rest of her nap snuggled up with Papa. I don't think he minded one bit!
Here she is with Grandma and Papa.

Here are some cute pictures I took of her outside before we left Grammy and Grandpa's house.

And this is what I got to peek at for the first hour of our trip back home this afternoon. What a precious angel. We won't talk about the other 2 hours, ha ha!

First Tiny Haircut!

Last week Kaitlynn got to go see Tessa for her first "tiny" little trim. She didn't even tough the top and sides because that's just now growing, but she did layer it up a bit in the back. Most people probably can't tell any difference but we think it looks much better. It getting pretty scraggly. I was expecting her to freak out but she was such a big girl! She sat in that big chair and watched herself in the mirror. Tessa gave her a sucker but she wasn't sure how to eat it. Matt had to show her how to suck on it but then she didn't want to give it up. We were very proud of her!
Here we all are looking in the mirror. Please ignore me! She had already started highlighting mine while we waited for Matt and Kaitlynn to get there.
Thursday evening I was getting out all of our baby furniture to take to Iowa for Annie and Jake to drive back to their house in Colorado. We're SO excited to meet our first niece in February and happy that we don't have to store all of this stuff for a while! Kaitlynn had a blast trying out all of her old things, including the Bumbo seat.
She didn't even really like to sit in her Bumbo when she was the right size for it, but now she loves it! Except for the fact that it takes her 5 minute to get un-stuck, which includes her yelling "stuck, stuck, stuck" the entire time! Hopefully her cousin will like it, too.

Fall Fun

Kaitlynn and I have had lots to chances to do some fun things this fall. We still have several activities planned in the next few weeks so be looking for updates!

Last weekend Kaitlynn and I drove up to my grandparent's house in Iowa. We had a really nice time seeing them and they enjoyed their special time with their great-grandaughter. We got to go over and see Mark and Diane's new house which is being built on their farm. It's going to be beautiful! See pictures below...

Sneaking a peak out the window with her baby.
One of the few times she actually went to Grandad! He wanted to hold her the whole weekend and she refused to give him any attention. Honery (sp?) girl!
Playing horsey with Papa
Trying to get away from Great-Grandma!
This is Mark and Diane's living room. The fireplace will be in the corner.
She thought their massive shower was fun to run around in!
A view from their ginormous deck. The views are absolutely beautiful!
Mamaw trying to keep her out of the nails and open floor areas.

When we got back to KC Sunday evening we picked up Daddy and headed over to Dan and Dana's for a Fall Farmer's Market Dinner. We ate outside and the girls had a great time playing in the yard.
Kaitlynn would have spent the whole night in Courtney's wagon. She loves that thing!
We snuck in a little slide time in the neighbors borrowed play gym.
Back in the wagon. They're all getting so big!
A little push for a friend.
When Matt was in Washington D.C. a few weeks ago, Kaitlynn and I met Dana and Courtney at the Blue Springs Fall Festival. It was pretty busy but Kate got to try out her first bounce house and they even went on their first carnival ride together! Our ticket was for 5 minutes of "bouncing" time. She spent the first 3 minutes just like this...
After watching Courtney run around she decided she might try it out to. Enjoy the video!

Aren't they just adorable!

This is what you get when you leave your 18 month old daughter in her room all alone for 5 minutes. Oh well...she had a great time!
