2 months old

Mr. Hayden is actually now 10 weekths old. I can't believe how fast the time is going and how big he is getting already! We had his 2 month appt. last week and he weighs 13 pounds which is the 75%. His head and length are still in the 25th%. It took him a little longer to start smiling then Kaitlynn did at this age, but the last few days he's really started to smile a lot more which I just LOVE!!

He is still pretty laid back unless he needs something and then his high pitched scream will quickly let you know that he isn't happy! He hardly spits up and is not colicky...thank goodness!! The biggest battle we've had so far is helping him to not be so gassy. He gets pretty uncomfortable sometimes. We're considering trying some soy formula with him to see if that helps any.

Kaitlynn is still a great big sister. She loves to help get things for us and is really a big help in the car. She can now reach him to put the pacifier back in his mouth when he starts crying. Sometimes she even says "shh shh shh" and she's pretty proud of herself when he stops crying and is happy again!

I went back to school for the last 9 1/2 days and it actually went by pretty quickly. I'm so excited to have another 9 weeks at home with the kids. We're going on a family vacation with the Wiese side of the family and are planning trips to the zoo, play dates, swimming and lots of other fun stuff. Hopefully I'll have a little more time to share updates.

When I went back to work our families took turn coming down to help babysit the kids. We are so thankful that they were able and willing to take time off of work to come help us out!

Playing with the neighbor girl
Talking to Carter, the neighbor on the other side. He carried his lawn chair over to the fence and sat down to have a little chat with the ladies. Too cute!
Here are some pictures I took of my little guy yesterday. Thanks to Janice for the adorable outfit!

My little man is hanging out here next to me as I type this so I decided to tape him. I didn't catch a big smile on here, but you can hear him "talking"!

Easter and Cousins

Here is a little update from the Sewing household. We've been very busy with a trip to Iowa for Easter and then another trip this past week for Mother's Day and to spend time with Aunt Annie and Cousin Abby. We had such a fun time! Some snuggle time with her brother one morning
We went to Mark and Diane's house Friday evening and Saturday to spend some time with my family Easter weekend.
Snuggling with Great Grandma Clouse
His shirt says it all! I can't complain one bit about this little guy. :)
Hanging out with Grandpa Hardie
Kaitlynn had her first Easter Egg Hunt in their basement. There's not too much of a rush to fiind the eggs when you're the only participant! In fact, she opened each egg one at a time as she went to see what was inside.
Here she is with her goods
Saturday evening we went over to Grammy and Grandpa Sewing's house. Papa had just had surgery on his shoulder but he was getting around pretty well. The Easter Bunny visited her at their house, too.
He just knew she would need a new fishing pole to practice for our vacation in June
That night she had ANOTHER egg hunt back at Grandma and Grandpa's house!

Happy 1st Easter Hayden Matthew!
Rocking with Great Grandma Wiese at lunch on Sunday
Cheese!
Lovin' from Nanny Janny

Our first family picture. Someday we'll get everyone looking and smiling!
Then she had her third egg hunt with Asha
Last Thursday I took both kids up to Iowa again and we stayed for a whole week. We had lots of family time and I even got caught up on my sleep. It was much needed!

Annie and Abby flew in on Monday and it was so nice to see them and watch the girls play together now that Abby's running around!
Grammy gave them spoons to dig in the dirt!
Poor Toby!

2 1/2 week update

First of all, here are a few pictures from before we left the hospital. My two perfect little angels!Getting all ready to head home. Yes, those are newborn sized pants! He has the shortest little legs but a long torso just like Daddy.
Welcome home! Kaitlynn and Grandma greeted us with an adorable sign.
Holding her brother in his room for the first time.As soon as we got inside, she had to give Hayden a tour of the house with Daddy!
On Saturday, Ryan, Sarah and Kinley came to visit for a while. As you can tell they really hit it off!

Two VERY proud grandparent's with all their grand kids. It's hard to believe that 4 months ago they only had one!!!
Hayden's first bath at home. He screamed until I wrapped him in the towel and picked him up.

Okay...not a good picture of me, but my husband thought it was hilarious that both of us had our mouths open in the exact same shape!
Look at that proud big sister before church last Sunday.
I LOVE this shirt!
It rained all day today so this morning Kaitlynn watched her Care Bear movie and wanted to snuggle with her brother. I think this was the longest she's held him so far! Without trying to shove the pacifier in his mouth or squeezing him so hard he turns red!
Here is a video of Kaitlynn greeting us when we got home from the hospital!

I'm happy to report that this kid is still very laid back, calm, relaxed and happy! As long as he is fed and changed he is content. I honestly, can't even really say that he's had a fussy time. He's been awake some during the night, but he's not screaming. That makes it MUCH more manageable! He has also only thrown up a couple of times and it's only been when he didn't burp. The exact opposite of how his big sister was at this stage! I can honestly say that I'm loving this newborn stage with him and even though I'm tired, I'm not exhausted. Most days, anyway!

We went for his check-up last week and he's back up to birth weight and everything looks great. He does have a blocked tear duct but the eye drops seem to be helping already. We go back in 2 weeks to get him checked out again.

Kaitlynn is doing well and loves her brother and helping. Sometimes it's a little too much help, but she means well! Ha ha! We're working on being a little more gentle and the fact that she doesn't have to ALWAYS be hugging or touching him. :)

We got his announcements in the mail today so as soon as I have time to get them addressed they'll be headed out in the mail. :)
