First Snow Day/Santa/Presents

We had our first Snow Day today which meant I got to spend the whole day home with Miss Kaitlynn. We have had a wonderful time and the day isn't even over yet! She helped me wrap some gifts, we watched Elmo's World, went outside to walk in the snow for the first time, had some cookies and milk...Here she is all ready to go outside. It took us quite a while to get all this gear on but she was excited about every part and kept saying "ooh boots, ooh hat"
She fell down and couldn't get back up!

I found some sticker books for a couple of her little friends and she helped me wrap them Sunday evening. She was so interested in everything little thing I did. Matt commented that he thinks she'll like to do crafts with me some day...hopefully he's right!
Last Sunday we went to Bass Pro Shop to get Kaitlynn's picture taken with Santa. The best part is that it's completely FREE! She's not scared off too much so we figured she'd do okay but we still weren't sure. The picture they took actually has her looking at the camera but this is the one I took. She gets so excited now when we talk about Santa! She also can say "ho ho ho....mistmas"

Before we got ready for church on Sunday she wanted to try on her new gloves. She chose a pink one and a black one and then didn't want to take them off even when she wanted to read a book!

This is how you know Kaitlynn is ready for nap time. She had hauled over her baby (bah bah), pillow (lillow) and had her blankie (gigi). For some reason she was sitting in a box, too! We went to bed shortly after this picture was taken!

Happy Thanksgiving

All 3 of us were able to go up to Iowa for Thanksgiving and we had a wonderful time visiting friends and family. It was nice that all of our meals were spread out over 3 days so that we could relax and take our time with everyone.

Meal #1 was with the Sewing family on Thursday afternoon. They hadn't seen Kaitlynn since she was a tiny baby so they were thrilled to see how much she's grown.

We went over to my parent's house that night to spend some time with them and Ryan and Sarah.

We went outdoors to have an impromptu lighting ceremony. It was pretty eventful!
She's really just not into getting her picture taken lately, which if you know me at all will understand how this doesn't really fit into my style. I have hope for future smiles which might be caught in the moment. We'll keep trying!

After Mom and I went shopping at 5:30 am. Friday morning we went to Matt's grandma's for dinner that night. She was the most excited to see Asha!

Daddy decided to give her a mohawk after the used her washcloth (which was covered in mashed potatoes) to wash the mess off of her head. She's so helpful! I'm just excited that there's enough hair there to actually stand up!

Saturday we went over to Mark and Diane's house for lunch. We got to meet Clayton's girlfriend and checked out the progress on their new house. We CAN'T wait for them to get all moved in. There are going to be some fun family gatherings there!

It's a little blurry, but I still think she looked adorable all ready for church at Riverside on Sunday.

We decorated our tree before we left town for Thanksgiving so that it was all up and ready when we got home. We've found that this works much better for us! We let Kaitlynn "help" hang some soft ornaments on the bottom. So far I've caught her with some of the red beads around the back of her neck leaning in towards the tree once. We just let her think that those little white lights are really HOT and that has kept her away for the most part!
Here she is watching Barney, eating a "nana" confined to her high chair. Listening to Barney while decorating the tree was certainly a little different for Matt and I! Maybe it will be a new tradition for us??

Happy Halloween Fun!

On Saturday Kaitlynn and I went to the Halloween parade in Independence with the Lee clan! Kaitlynn was not too sure what she thought of all the costumes and masks at first but once she got used to it and tried out a sticky sucker she had a good time! The tractors were her favorite...she's definitely an Iowa girl at heart!

After we got back home, Matt was off work and the Hicks family came over for some more Halloween fun. Dana made the girls matching tutus and shirts. I loved them!

We took the girls to just a couple of houses on our block. They held hands all the way down the street. It was absolutely adorable!

Tucker even got into the holiday with his festive scarf. He kept it on all day and didn't even mess with it!

Matt took off work last Saturday and we went to the pumpkin patch. We all had a great afternoon together!
She still doesn't love the goats!








Picking the perfect one
Last Sunday we carved our pumpkins. Kaitlynn's little one was so completely solid that we couldn't even cut the top off. We just had her help us "clean" out our bigger "punkins" She wouldn't touch the gooey stuff but she liked to stir the spoons around and pretend to dump out the junk into the trash can. She had a great time even though she wasn't really doing anything!
