Fun with Grammy and Grandpa

I know I'm LONG over due on updating the blog...so I have included several entries for your enjoyment. Make sure to check them all out!

This weekend Grammy and Grandpa Sewing came to visit! Us girls went shopping yesterday and Ken did a ride-along with Matt. We all had a great time!

I made some yummy blueberry pancakes for breakfast this morning. Our good eater obviously loved them, as you can tell!

Playing the "hat on...hat off" game with Grandpa!

Grammy and Grandpa's new dog, Duke came for his first visit to our house. It took a little while for Duke and Tucker to get used to each other but eventually Duke decided that he might like to run around and play with his new friend. I think they really bonded last night when they teamed up to take on a baby possum that was in our yard! Poor Grammy about had a heart attack!

She took Duke for a little walk with is leash around the living room...
We tried the leash out on Kaitlynn, too!
We had a wonderful weekend. Thanks for everything Ken and Jean!

New Babyistter

Kaitlynn started at her new babysitter, Jennifer's house full time this week. I think that it helped that she is older this year because she has so much fun playing the Braeden, Emily and Kaden. They are all between 1-2 years old and have a great time together! I am so thankful to have a job that allows me to be home at least 3 months out of the year with her but it's hard to adjust back to the "real world'! She seems to have adjusted better than me. By Thursday she walked to the door and said "Bye Mama"!

Braeden came over to play a couple of times this summer while Jennifer went to the dentist. Here are a couple of pictures of the two cuties playing together!
CHEESE! She now has 12 teeth and has 4 more coming in. Are we done then?? I sure hope so for a while!

Hardie Visit

A couple of weeks ago Kaitlynn and I went up to St. Joe to church with Ryan and Sarah. My Mom and Dad were visiting, too! We came back and had a little cook out for lunch.
I love my Uncle Ryan

I LOVE this one of her looking out the window
Snuggling with Grandma Hardie
Walking around in her cute dress Grammy Sewing gave her.

Ryan and Sarah (with help from others) have been working really hard on re-painting their kitchen cabinets. I think they are turning out great! They are going to eventually get new floor and counter tops which will make a HUGE difference!
Hanging out with Uncle Ryan and Aunt Sarah
After lunch it was getting close to her nap time as I'm sure you can tell! If this girl is tired she sure doesn't hide it from anyone. We're so thankful for our good sleeper.

After her nap she was ready to play and get some "smooches" from Jersie
More help in the kitchen!

Kansas City Royals

Matt had the fun opportunity a few weeks ago to help present the flag at the Kansas City Royals baseball game. There were two Lee's Summit officers and 2 fire fighters. He was quite excited to say the least! It also happened to be the first night the new Hall of Fame opened so there were lots of Hall of Fame players there, as well. He got to stand in front of the KC dugout for quite a while before the game and got a close-up of several KC players!

I was lucky enough to also go to the game and watch him. They gave each of the guys a free ticket and one of the other officers didn't want to stay so I got his ticket! We had a great night out together and the weather was amazing!

The night before the game Matt was rounding up all of his Honor Guard "stuff" and Kaitlynn tried on his hat. Very cute!

Iowa Trip and Kaitlynn's going to be a cousin!

Kaitlynn and I were able to go up to Iowa for a few days because her Aunt Annie came back to visit from Colorado. We had such a great time seeing her and spending time with everyone that I was sad to leave. We went to the airport to surprise her Tuesday night and it turns out she had an even bigger surprise for us! You too can find out in the video below...
Walking around at the airport with Grammy and Grandpa and saying "hi" to EVERYONE she saw along the way!

On Wednesday we took Kaitlynn to the Omaha Zoo. She loved it but once she got out of her stroller she wasn't interested in getting back in! Her Great Aunt Julie and 2nd Cousin Asha came along with us, too!
She kept "woofing" at the goats and after a little coaxing even petted one for a VERY brief moment!
I told Annie I thought Kaitlynn looked like she could be her daughter in this picture but Annie thought Asha looked more like her! Who do you agree with?!? Ha! We love you Ashi!

Grammy and Kaitlynn on the bench swing
She has just started pretend play in the last couple of weeks. It's so adorable! She takes care of her baby and feeds everyone out of bowls, buckets, etc.
Swinging at Grammy's house. She likes it for literally 30 seconds and then says "Go...Go" as she tries to get out. Maybe next summer she'll spend more time in it.
That evening we went over to Jacquie and Dillard's house for dinner. Annie announced their good news to all of the extended family. The video below shows how excited and shocked they were! I think they were all expecting it to be me. Sorry folks! We'll meet Kaitlynn's new cousin and then think about extending our family!

I made her a Big Cousin shirt that afternoon to help Aunt Annie and Uncle Jake make their announcement!
Jacquie tried to get her to wear these stylin' shades but she would only wear them on her head just like Mommy!
Moochin' food off of Annie and Great Grandma Wiese. I'm sure she was saying "bite, bite, bite"
Not too sure if she wanted to get in the pool. It had rained all morning and the water was pretty cold. She tried it for a few minutes with Julie but decided that was enough. I took her back on Friday and she liked swimming with Mommy a "little" bit better. It did wear her out enough to take a good nap, though!
We did sneak away to visit her other Grandma and Papa a few times, too. We spent Tuesday with them, met for lunch one day and even went out to dinner Friday evening with both sets of her grandparents. We're so lucky that not only do our parents live in the same town, but especially that they are friends and get along great so we can do things together!
