Colorado here we come!

We were so lucky to be able to join some of Matt's extended family on a trip to Colorado. We rented a house near Lyons, CO and we were about 50 minutes from Boulder and Estes Park. The owner of the house ended up being a REAL jerk and unfortunately, a lot of our trip ended up being focused around her and how angry we were at her. I don't think any of us will ever forget Pam. In the end we had a wonderful time, drank lots of wine, and made may wonderful memories together.
Here is a view from our deck.

I just love this picture!
Kaitlynn loves to follow Asha around and does EVERYTHING she does. By the end of the week Kaitlynn kept calling her "Ash" and Asha called her "Kate"
Kaitlynn is so lucky to have such an awesome 2nd cousin
Kisses for Abigail. It was vacation...who needs clothes!
She's getting so big.
Mary told Jack if he could find 7 people to participate in a hula hoop contest that she would pay the person who could do it the longest $10. Asha ended up winning and we all got a good laugh out of it!

Jenna's turn
Kaitlynn was a good sport and clapped for all the contestants
Jake's turn
Julie gave it her best shot...
Kaitlynn joined in the competition, too! She just holds on to the hoop and turns around in circles. It was pretty cute!
We tried to have Kaitlynn and Abby take their first bath together, but as you can see it didn't go so well...

The girls all had their 4th of July outfits there so we decided to do a little photo shoot!

Here is a video of Kaitlynn singing Barney's "I Love You" to Abby. Enjoy!

Before we left, Kaitlynn and Asha decided to try on some of Pam's fancy boots. I couldn't resist taking a picture before I made them take them off!

Dora Party

My friend Dana invited 3 of Courtney's friends to come over for a Dora party last week just for the fun of it. She's so creative and the girls had a great time! There were four, 2 year old so the girls had so much fun!

The first activity was to decorate some Dora glasses.

Dana even made the girls maps just like on the Dora show. They each had one in their back packs along with some other "tools" to help them get to the treasure.
Getting ready to go outside with their back packs.
We're all ready for our adventure!
Here they are listening to the Dora music.

Showing off her beautiful glasses!

The first stop was running through the trees.

The second stop on their map was to water the garden.
Then they went to the troll bridge. They fed the troll some "food" from their backpacks so he would let them cross.
The last stop was to the play house. Then we went in for some lunch!
Dan put on Dora for the girls to lunch while we made the pizzas. The other 3 girls were immediately glued to the tv. Kaitlynn on the other hand could really care less. She did want to climb up for the picture, though!
They each had their own mini cheese pizza.
Yesterday Kaitlynn woke up from her nap and decided to get out of her crib on her own. The thud was so loud when she fell out I swear the whole house shook. I was terrified as I went in to get her but was so relieved to see that she was at least standing up so I knew nothing major was broken. Thankfully she only ended up with a bruise on her cheek and leg. Needless to say, as soon as Matt got home we transferred her crib into a toddler bed. I also ran out and got a guard rail so she wouldn't fall out of this bed, too! Here she is trying it out after I put the rail on.

Here is a cute video of Kaitlynn dancing while she sang her ABC's. I was trying to be sneaky so she wouldn't see me but as you can see, that didn't last too long!

Happy Birthday Mommy

My birthday was on Sunday so we went to play at a park and get ice cream when Matt got home from work that evening. I can't think of 2 other people I'd rather spend time with!

Here she's saying "I wearin' daddy's poweece glasses!"

Weeee!!
Yummy ice cream
We went out to get ice cream for my birthday. Kaitlynn got to finally have her first ice cream cone!
We thought she'd like to see a motorcycle up close and personal because she's so obsessed with them while we're driving...
we were wrong!
She has started playing pretend with her feet while we're driving. One morning it was a puppy. She was saying "Hi puppy, what doin' puppy, you okay puppy? It's okay puppy, I wuv you puppy!"

It has also been her baby. She was hugging her foot, singing to it and even giving it some "mooches" She kept saying "I wuv you baby, oh, did I hit you baby? I sorry baby!"

We went over to a friend's house for dinner the other night. It was so much fun to meet their new baby girl and to catch up with each other. Kaitlynn loved their tree swing.
She thought the hammock was pretty awesome, too!
Matt watched Kaitlynn today and said she wanted to go outside and ride her bike ALL day long, but it kept raining off and on. We made sure to go out for a while after dinner.
She's always moving so it's hard to get a good shot!

It was very sunny on the drive way so we went to run around the back yard for a while. As we were coming inside I happened to see this gigantic frog sitting next to our deck steps. I zoomed in for this picture so it's not quite as big as it looks here, but it was pretty big. It's feet were HUGE! Kaitlynn was scared to death as you can witness for yourself in the videos below!

Warning: I was holding a screaming toddler while trying to video tape so if you get motion sickness I don't advise watching! No 2 year olds were actually harmed in this video although it may sound like it

Here she is clinging to Matt when we came back inside. The poor girl will probably never want to go outside again!
Publish Post
Note: Matt safely carried the frog with Kaitlynn's plastic shovel to the other side of the fence. We were afraid Tucker would discover it and we didn't want it to get killed. Hopefully it will stay there!

We're excited to announce...

that Kaitlynn is going to have another cousin! Ryan and Sarah are expecting a baby in December. I have a feeling it's going to be a boy, but we'll know for sure in August sometime.

Jersie helped share their news to us about a month ago!
They used map and directions to tell Grandma and Grandpa Hardie the big news!

Then Kaitlynn helped us announce the news to Mark, Diane, Grandma, Grandad and the rest of that crew this past weekend! This is the same shirt she wore when Annie and Jake announced that they were pregnant last summer. It fits her much better now!

Kaitlynn and I went up to Iowa last weekend because Annie and Abby were in town. We were able to come up Thursday evening after I got done at summer school and had 3 full days with everyone. We had such a nice time even though poor Kaitlynn was sick. More about that later...
She of course had to help Papa Hardie fill the bird feeder.

On Friday, Annie and I took Kaitlynn, Abby and Asha over to the Children's Museum. Kaitlynn was not in the best mood, but they all still had a great time!

We painted their facesShe had a "K" for Kaitlynn on the other side in blue of course because that seems to be her favorite color or maybe just because it's the one she knows for sure!!
You can always count on a smile from Asha!
This was our attempt to get all 3 girls in the shot, I got about 2 1/2 of them!
Shopping for some groceries
So cute! Annie and I were busy talking and then realized we could hear one of the girls snoring. We looked back and found them both snoozing with their heads leaning towards each other. Precious!
Thursday evening we went over to Grammy and Papa Sewing's house for dinner and we of course spent some time playing outside.
Abby joined us in her new stroller
Aunt Annie was looking for bugs. You can tell how not excited Kaitlynn was about this! She likes to say "Oh no bugs, don't get me!"

I had noticed that Kaitlynn's 2 year molars were starting to come in last Monday. She started to run a fever and was not sleeping or eating well that whole week. We attributed it all to her teeth coming in. I debated on taking her to the doctor before we left town on Thursday, but it just seemed like she had a cold so I decided to go ahead and take her without getting anything checked out. It turns out that might not have been the best choice. By Sunday I knew we needed to get her in to the doctor ASAP. Matt took her Monday morning and she ended up have an ear infection and upper respiratory infection. Poor thing! We've been doing breathing treatments 4 times a day, along with an inhaler (which she HATES!) and an antibiotic. Her coughing is getting much better so we're hoping to only have to do the treatments for a couple more days.

Here she is this morning...
She always looks really sad while she's doing it, but she's done such a great job! It took Matt and a nurse to hold her down at the doctor's office, but she's done great at home. We put Barney on the DVD player and give her a couple skittles when she's done. Everytime we take the mask off she days "I did it!"
